Souvenir – Seattle, WA

In the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle there is a one-of-a-kind little shop called Souvenir curated by artist Curtis Steiner. The shop is filled on one side with Curtis’ unique collection of cards, each one featuring one of his original paintings. The remainder of the shop feels like a museum filled with delightfully odd objects and creations. Each has a sense of history and tells it’s own fascinating story. Like a peak inside the mind of a mad genius, this shop will mean something different to each visitor. From Curtis’ handmade and antique jewelry to his sculptures featuring the carefully preserved bodies of insects, what all of these items have in common is the whimsical and delicate story that they tell. Nothing in the shop is mass produced and you will likely not find any of these items anywhere else. For more about the shop and artist Curtis Steiner check out this video.
