Thanks to my “Portland Style Scouts” Kevin and Jenny for helping me find The Good Mod. The Good Mod is a very charming 11,000 sq.ft. warehouse space filled with wonderful mid-century and industrial furniture and artwork. The pieces that you will find at The Good Mod are not your average garage sale variety, each vintage treasure has been expertly refinished and brought back to it’s original glory by the skilled folks in the workshop. Their pieces have been featured in movies and is owned by discriminating clients like Wieden+Kennedy, Nike, and actor Timothy Hutton. The craftsmen at The Good Mod are lead by owner Spencer Staley who is brilliant at plucking industrial objects out of obscurity and turning them into beautiful works of art. His plans include developing his own line of custom designs which will be available in store and online soon. Stay tuned to their website for updates.
I dream of the orange enamel Cathrineholm bowl below.
Below is a shot of one corner of the workshop and the photo studio where they photograph pieces for online sale.
Thanks to Spencer and the good folks at The Good Mod.
