Huber’s – Portland, OR

So back in March Cory did a weekend gig at Harvey’s Comedy Club in Portland and we were lucky enough to spend a crazy fun weekend withDante the Comic and Rebekah Kochan, a fabulous comedy duo and a couple of really cool people too. We had such a great time and so many late night adventures. One of the highlights was Huber’s, a restaurant that Dante and Rebekah introduced us to. Huber’s is actually the OLDEST restaurant is ALL OF PORTLAND! How cool is that. It became famous back in the 1800′s for it’s turkey sandwiches prepared by Chinese immigrant Jim Louie. Now-a-days Huber’s is still famous for great turkey in all forms and also for a very special irish coffee prepared at your table with a dazzling performance. Huber’s current location is in the Oregon Pioneer Building where they moved in 1911. The back dinning room is a very remarkable space with curving stained glass windows twenty feet over head, heavy woodwork and brass accents. There are indicators of the restaurant’s history everywhere you look including the orginal brass cash register behind the bar.
