The House of Tomorrow – Palm Springs, CA

I first saw the “House of Tomorrow” in a super cute video by Rue Magazine called “Marshmallow World“. I loved the mid-century Christmas themed video and I loved the house that was featured in it. I did a little looking and found out that this beautiful piece of mid-century modernism was built by the famous Alexander Company and is also known as The Elvis Honeymoon House. The house was built by Robert Alexander as his own family residence. The Alexanders were well known Palm Springs socialites in the era of the cocktail party. After the Alexanders tragic death in a plane crash the house was leased for one year to Elvis Presley and was used as his honeymoon hideaway after marrying Priscilla.

While in Palm Springs we stopped by the house for a tour, I was so excited to see the house that I forgot that the tour had the strong possibility of being all about Elvis… and it was :) So, I now know more about Elvis and his wedding day than I ever thought I would, but it was very cute. We had a great time taking pictures in Elvis’ shower and sitting on his bed. Here is a little look at what we saw.
